Fusing 2.0

For those who have some experience with fusing glass and want to move themselves to another creative level, this workshop is for you. The focus of the workshop is on the development of ways to expand your ability to express yourself using fussed glass. The workshop covers a series of simple fusing techniques and thought processes that can launch you in new directions or revive your current expressions.

Here is a comment from a participant.

I recently completed a 2-day seminar with Richard Altman.  The intent of the class was to expand on my glass fusing capabilities and explore new directions for artistic expression.  As a relative novice to this art, I was anxious to absorb as much information as possible and was very pleased with the scope and content of our discussions.

We began with the “Heat Highway” which was an understandable and enlightening explanation of the effect of heat on glass at each phase of the fusing cycle.  As a former teacher, Mr. Altman was very organized in his presentation with each segment of information building on the previous one.  The concepts presented included design, materials, and creativity which all went far beyond those I had found in reading many books or in the basic classes I have already taken on warm glass.  At the completion of our class time I felt comfortable with the quest to refine and completely equip my own glass studio and branch out into previously unexplored techniques.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to study with Mr. Altman and am excited about continuing and expanding my warm glass adventure
